We slept well in the city provided overnight parking area last night and are now sipping coffee/tea here on Campbell River waterfront and scratching our heads as to whether we stay local or move on. It's 62 deg here, nice marine breeze with highs predicted in 70s. Sky is, well... very clear compared to what we see on reports about inland / mainland BC and certainly to back home in Seattle area.
Having been out of cell service for 4 days being in Strathcona Prov park, we're catching up on news and weather and it looks like nasty fire /smoke situation in just about every direction back on the mainland. We are hoping to eventually spend a couple weeks in the Banff - Lake Louise area but its looking like we'll postpone that for now, central BC is a mess with fires and smoke. Might just head back up into park or head north to Alert Bay / Port Hardy in a day of two.

Thinking - hang out in Campbell River today, find some fresh salmon for the grill and enjoy the cool clear weather.
